thanks! i hope you could help me...|||oww... old

you can put in a big a card as you want make sure to get a bigger power supply so you dont crash.|||You can buy an AGP video card with the video memory you want, this will upgrade you.|||That depends on a few things.

1. Is the video card currently built on to the main board? If so can you disable it in the Bios?

2. Is there an available slot inside the computer for a new video card? If your current video card can be removed then it should be no problem.

Based on a quick google your system may have an AGP slot. If so then you need an AGP video card.

What is the best (and cheapest) 512mb video card?

My recent 128mb video card is broken so I'm thinking, why upgrade along the way.. So anyone can give me the best 512mb and cheapest of all.. I want overall performance to be good.. (clock speed, pixel shader etc..)|||we can't really give you an idea if you don't give us an exact price|||That depends. What's your idea of cheap?|||a nvidia geforce youll want to get

but if you dont tell us what pci slot or agp slot you have then we cant help you

AGP: ATi HD 3850 AGP|||crap cheap: 8500gt. less that 200 dollars but still awesome cheap:8800gt or 9600gt.|||Go to a search engine, put in 512mb Video Card price comparison. That should bring up at least one site that will compare prices from a few sites. Then go from there. When you find one you think will suit, do some research on it, and check if it's compatible with the rest of your hardware, otherwise you'll be throwing good money after bad.|||i recommend the evga eGe-Force 8800 gt 512 mb

they are extremely cheap for how good they are

i got the XFX model and it has never ceased to amaze me i run crysis on all high with 4x anti alaising

Is your system a laptop or a desktop? If it's a laptop, there is no way to upgrade the video card to a Pixel Shader 2.0, which is a requirement, so you would need to upgrade.

If you have a desktop the you can upgrade your RAM to meet the requirements and buy a new video card.|||Edit : you Surely need a new PC

when EA announces the minimum requirements that means the PC will just RUN the game and you wont be able to actually Play the Game on 1 Frame per second

1 FPS means that when a character in game is going from kitchen to a room you have to wait for your PC (minimum requirements) something like 5 min to actually see the character reach the room

you need a new PC if you want to play that game

and about getting just a new VGA

its a dead end we need to know your mother board info(Name and product number will do example{ASUS P5Q}) to see if you can update it or not and im sure it wont support new stuff cuz its on SIS VGA and even if your motherboard has a slot for new VGA it should be AGP not PCI express and you wont be able to get a AGP VGA now days

anyways the choice is yours

if you would like to buy anything cheap(under 500) look at this question it might help you (not recommended)

and if you don't want to have any problem with Sims 3 and any other game for next 4-5 years with windows Vista and lots of other goodies i cant even start

this one is awesome (highly recommended) for 250 more you get 3X more performance compared to PCs on other question

I have an AthlonXP 2000,128mb video card, 512mb RAM, 40 GB HD. Which should i upgrade first RAM or Video card?

i use the pc for gaming and video editing. either upgrade ram to 1gb or the video card to 256. also please comment if i do not need to upgrade my system as it is.|||If you ar really looking forward for video editing and gaming it is a good idea to upgrade your system. Video editing takes a lot of cpu, ram and disk space.

I believe that you need to upgrade your RAM first. All new applications require more RAM. Infact you will see a difference in speed once you upgrade your RAM.

Video RAM is actually important as you do lot of gaming. To get a real smooth video effect it is good to have a good video card with more Video Ram.

Now with video editing, you will find that 40 GB Hard disk is not enough. Video editing demands more disk space, as mostly you will transfer video to your hard disk before editing it.

Hope this helps...|||AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual Core Processor Memory - 1024 MB DDR-SDRAM400 RAM

Graphics - Ati All-in-wonder X1900 256mb Gddr3 Pci Express X16 Video Card/tv Tuner

400 gb, hard drive

Optical drive - Double Layer 16x Multiformat (+/-) DVD-Rewiter Drive

ports enthernet lan card

then the pc gaming , power will fly|||It is RAM first.|||Well, that all depends on what you use it for. Video editing won't benefit from a new video card but gaming would. however both gaming and video editing would benefit from more RAM. I would have to know more about your model of video card though before I could say for sure. also if all you have is a 40GB hard drive than you may want to consider upgrading that as well. some games now can take up to 2GBs or more and video editing doesn't skimp on strorage usage either.|||Only a 40 gig hard drive? You can't be doing a lot of serious video editing with only a 40 gig hard drive, dude. If you want to get into a lot of long term projects, you need more hard drive space.

As for your other specs.... the 128 video card will serve you fine unless you get into serious 3D rendering programs or hardcore motion graphics.

I would upgrade your RAM, because RAM is what is used for rendering and other functions of video editing. I would try to get at least 2 gigs of RAM, if your motherboard can handle it. Anything less is slooooooooooooow.

I can't advise on the gaming side, however. I don't use my computers for serious gaming. I don't know the video card requirements for that stuff. But a good video editing machine with 2 gigs of RAM will serve most of your purposes for gaming I image....

Of course, so would a PS3 ;)|||If you get reasonable performance from it now, you might not need to upgrade. I think which you do first would depend on your specific needs. In general I would upgrade system RAM before the video, unless specific software you run needs better video.|||I'd always go for more RAM, I had 512 MB to begin with and upgraded to 1.5 GB RAM, it made a world of difference.|||Hi,

I would rather upgrade the RAM. With 128mb VGA you can edit videos etc. If your motherboard can handle 1024mb DDR2, it will be great. But if you really want to edit videos etc you maybe ran out of space 40GB is nothing if you really go into editing. And remember it all depents on what software you using to edit. If you going to use Pinnacle Studio, you have to beef up your PC

Good Luck

Where do I get a 128MB video card?

For an XP or where Do i Enable it!|||Best buy , Office depot , or this link-and it will enable itseelf through windows by default-then go to windows updat and hit custom and it will give you the drivers you need for your card. And if you need mor memory for video it has larger cards . Please keep in mind of your PC case. maninblack4r@yahoo.com|||128MB...or 128bit? you need to know what slot you have...PCI, AGP,PCIe??? when you say "enable" it sounds like built in graphics...you cant change that! we need a bit more input to give a definitive answer. What make/model mother board? or computer manufacture?...does it have a video card slot?..what type?...AGP, PCI, PCIe?|||Newegg.com is the best store I have found in 6 years. Get a 512MB card. Find out if you have AGP, PCI, or PCI express slots for your card.|||Dont even bother with a 128 MB card. That is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small. Consider 512MB the minimum. You will have to buy one for about $50 U.S.|||128MB was relevant like 6 years ago.|||If you shop carefully and ask questions

Is it recommendable to replace my 128Mb video card for a 1Gb video card?

i have:

a dell 21inch monitor

1Gb RAM

Intel Inside Pentium 4

I'm into:

softwares

imaging

gaming

music (i use visual softwares for this)

*and i plan to install a TV card so i can use my 21inch monitor as a TV so i can save space in my room

i think i will use Asus Video card because my 128Mb was an Asus and it worked well.,|||NOT recommended. Will just burn a hole in your wallet without giving noticeable performance gain over 512mb videoram.|||What is the main reason for wanting to replace your video card?

If you will to shell out over $300 dollars for one then yeah, but if your into gaming you would do fine with a 512mb card. 1gb cards are quite a new thing and to be honest there is really no need to buy one just yet|||Well getting an 512 mb nvidia chipset will work, there is really no need to buy a 1Gb card. 512 will work perfect.

personally i have 256 mb agp card and its working great for games and heavy duty graphical softwares.|||One thing i'll tell is any videocard of above 512 MB will make no difference i.e they do not increase performance any more. There are less games and softwares that utilize anything more than 512 MB RAM.

If ur going to install tv-tuner card u must remember that they are resource hog i.e they consume a lot of cpu power to capture and record videos whereas for viewing tv even a 266 Mhz processor can do.

do not invest in a 1GB videocard, hav any Nvidia card 8800GTX which supports the upcoming directx 10|||hey man i thing u live in Bangladesh or India.becauseof only Asus. it is chep but not good 100% but 80%

and 128 vga is good bat|||yes|||The amount of RAM a video card has does not matter as much as some of the other features it has. You will probably be fine with a 256mb video card. I'm going to guess you have an AGP slot since you still have a P4. I'm going to reccomend an nVidia 7600GT video card. It should cost around $100 and should be great for doing a lot of things. You could go for a card that has 512mb of RAM such as the ATi x1650 but this card is slow and you won't notice a difference in RAM. You will start noticing a difference in the high 7 and 8 series of nvidia cards. Since you have a 21in monitor, you might be running a high resolution and more video memory is reccomened for that.
